History
Amongst the first Capital-Science consortiums that emerged in the mid 2060s was Amadeus Global Capital, a company that managed billions in interstate assets and took over the rights to all the old fountain pen brands still on the market. This commercial operation, described as a millionaire suicide at the time and considered by analysts as masterful a decade later, allowed the corporation to launch the new technology of holographic terminals based on MetaWaves with a romantic vintage tone. In just three years, the public went from calligraphic to holographic use, sporting slim terminals with the prestigious antique look inherited from classic pens, some with more than two centuries of history. This strategy reactivated the market for communication terminals in an unthinkable way, a success unknown since the launch of Apple’s i-Maxx platform in the 2040s.
The terminals thus experienced an unprecedented renewal of style, enhanced by the use of intelligent creation software. The custom of having several “branded” terminals, depending on the clothing and environment in which to interact, became commonplace in the 70s.
Over time, each brand of “Fountain Terminal” was targeting different social and professional levels. Today, the brand of a terminal defines its user, both through price and style. The most extreme case would come with the models ordered by the Security Council for use in defense, such as the exclusive FaberCastell-M1 for the members of the Democratic Guard, or the famous MontBlanc-DZ used exclusively by the 7 InterPol DoubleZero agents. It is seen more in action TV series than in reality itself.
