History

The struggle for hegemony in transcontinental flights during the last decades of the 21st century undoubtedly had a supersonic winner. Thanks to new fuels based on fermentation of genetically modified algae, the development of new high-efficiency propellants allowed the large aeronautical corporations to dream again of travel at speeds greater than Mach 2.

 

The last great crisis, brought about by the Wheat Wars, had limited the previously unstoppable growth of tourist flights across the planet. After the World Peace Decree and the reconfiguration of nations into Ecologically Stable SocioSystems, reactivated the industry by requiring innovative solutions for the new migratory demand.

 

The absorption of the old patents of the disappeared Northrop-Grumman by the new CapitalScience group Toyota Aerospace, allowed the development of more efficient stratojets running on the new generation of biofuels.

 

The ScreamJet passenger plane performed its maiden flight from Paris to San Francisco on July 17, 2110 in only 4hrs. It broke the existing record cruising at an average speed of Mach 2.7. 10 years later it is still the most used aircraft for short transoceanic flights.
