History
The DNA Tower was built between 2094 – 2099 as corporate HQ of GenHomia Enterprises in Zurich. Its design features the latest technological advances in nanomaterials applied to space engineering. Its height of 918m, with 220 floors over a 23 m diaphanous hall, allowed it to hold the height record in construction in Europe until 2112, the year in which the Madrid Arch was completed for the Olympic Games.
Its 16 glazed funicular lifts, with their characteristic helicoidal trajectory along the outer nerves, are still today an unsurpassed technological contribution and a unique tourist attraction in the world, as they provide a 300-degree panoramic view upwards of the entire city of Zurich and its metropolitan area.
